Buck Rogers is making a comeback!

Hey, all Flash Gordon Buck Rogers and all retro sci-fi fans, check out this new website I found! Apparently Buck Rogers is going to make a big comeback over the next couple of years! They're producing a line of action figures, the original comics are going to be officially reprinted in book collections for the first time, replicas of the famous original ray guns are going to be sold in stores and best of all, there's going to be a new feature film and TV series! Check it out! I've been geeking all over it!

Here we go, 500 years into the future!!!

It would be nice to see him make a comeback. I must admit though, I don't know much of anything about the character or story aside from this serial and reading about how the original story portrayed a world taken over by the Huns.

I've noticed on Amazon they are selling collections of the original comic strips. In addition, Dynamite Comics are now publishing a new comic book that I've read the first issue and it seems pretty good, even though they've changed how Buck gets to the 25th century in the comics or serial. As for the planned movie, let's hope somebody came to their senses after The Spirit and fired Frank Miller. He was wrong for that film and definetly wrong for Buck Rogers.

In addition, the 1939 12-Chapter Serial is being shown on Turner Classic Movies. 2 episodes will be shown on Saturday mornings. Check local listings for time in your area.

The first two episodes, Tomorrow's World and Tragedy on Saturn are showing this coming Saturday, April 23. Episodes three and four, The Enemy's Stronghold and The Sky Patrol air the following Saturday, April 30.

Unfortunately, TCM changed the way they list their programs online, so now they don't even show Buck Rogers as being scheduled at all, let alone looking them up for the Month of May. I have contacted TCM about this but haven't had a reply.

Meanwhile, if anyone has a complete list of the episodes of this serial or knows where I can find them, please email [email protected] so I can check it out.

And I too eagerly await the new Buck Rogers (3D!) movie.

Ciao!

The gohero.com/buckrogers/ no longer exists. TS.

Let it be unsaid: insignificance is the locus of true increpation.
