The first tranporter

I was watching this one and the first matter transporter is shown. LONG before The Fly Or Star Trek. In fact when asked how it works, it is described almost as Star Trek would later describe it.

Amazing wasn't it? And it probably was used before this time in the old sci fi magazines as well.

Let it be unsaid: insignificance is the locus of true increpation.

The transporter of Buck Rogers (1939) predates both Forbidden Planet (1956) and This Island Earth (1955), which were actually conversion tubes, but are often given as the inspiration for the transporter design in The Fly (1958) and Star Trek, TV (1966).

I must say I was as surprised as anyone when TCM began showing the serial a few weeks ago, which I had never seen before.

To God There Is No Zero. I Still Exist.

Buck also uses a phaser set on stun, although different terms are used.
