shareit's awesome. most of the dancing is tapping, but it rocks.
"Don't you have to go be stupid somewhere else?" "Not until 4"
Yes Fred Astaire does dance very well in the movie, but not as good as darling ELLIE does.
"Darling ELLIE was the apple of my eye - Now she's in heaven I want to CRY"
Right now there's apparently an e-mail with one of the long tap dance sequences that is breathtaking. Powell and Astaire's accelerando is perfect. It's black and white, but I think color would have taken away from the show. Definitely see it if you can.
There's something different about you today, Mr. Laurio.
I bought the DVD just to watch them dance to "Begin the Beguine", over and over.
It's definitely worth seeing. The plot is complete nonsense, but the dancing is superb. I'd never seen Eleanor Powell before but she was a great tapper, and Fred is magic as always. His routine for "I've Got My Eye On You" is the highlight for me -- the piano-kicking, great!
shareThis movie rules.
"The porpoise is laughing, goodbye, goodbye!.."
Fred is great but the best number is the one with Powell where he watches from the audience. Some of the moves look like they would be injurious.
