Who is most attractive: Hedy Lamarr, Merle Oberon or Ava Gardner?
This is a trick questions, of course. All three are knockouts. But I suspect people will have their preferences.

shareHedy Lamarr, with Ava Gardner a close second.
shareIMHO, Ms. Lamar.
Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.
Hedy! Anyone else is just that, an "anyone."

I was soliciting opinions. There is no definitive, objective answer. And I never mentioned sex (appeal). Apparently you were distracted by a name or two you recognized. I was trying to show you the moon and you saw only my finger.

This was the first time I'd every seen Hedy Lamarr in a film, and I must admit she is very beautiful. I'd have to see her in another film to really judge. Ava Gardner was also beautiful, in a different way.
shareI assume you are talking about Hollywood actresses in their prime. Let's not leave out the name of Elizabeth Taylor, shall we? I just watched "The Quiet Man" the other night and loved Maureen O'Hara in that movie! Now we need to name a beautiful blonde!
shareThere are others equal to these three (Vivien Leigh, Grace Kelly, etc.), but I was just comparing Hedy, Merle and Ava.
shareWell, back in my day....Hedy was the epitome of beauty from the very first American film she made, "Algiers". Women, who were not a brunette, all went out and dyed their hair brunette. Wore hats, such as a turban, which she made famous from just one scene wearing one. Others went as far as doing some plastic surgery on their nose, to look like hers. Not since, with the gorgeous actress's that followed, has any other actress given the same effect...and that old saying goes like 'imitation is the greatest form of flattery". Some great stars of that era, Crawford, Leigh, went to part there hair in the middle, only Leigh came close and lets not forget that blonde beauty, yes Blonde Joan Bennett dyed her hair and came pretty close to look like Hedy, after her first movie "Trade Winds"..which revived her career. To this very day, watching one of Hedy's films, we still sit in awe of that face, as Myrna Loy once said. "Oh, that fantastic face...."...not knowing at that time, she had the brains to match.
shareThere are other actresses who were emulated by many, including Veronica Lake and Marilyn Monroe. They were all so flattered. But this is about personal opinion.
