One of Hollywood's Finest Comedies

This film ought to be considered as one of Hollywood's finest Comedies ever produced because it fits together better than most and contains some of the brightest sight gags ever performed on film.

It all begins with one Blondie Bumstead decides to accept an invitation for her family to visit Aunt Hannah and Uncle Abner Henderson for a quiet Fourth of July holiday vacation, which means no firecrackers, which means that Dagwood Bumstead, Alexander 'Baby Dumpling' and Daisy may have to alter their plans to smuggle fireworks to the farm even though this task is largely left up to Baby Dumpling and Daisy, while Dagwood tries to get some time off from work at the offices of J.C. Dithers, from his employer himself, J.C. Dithers (who reveals in this episode that Alexander is known as Dagwood Junior).

So will Daisy be able to guard the suitcase containing contraband? Will J.C. Dithers give Dagwood Bumstead time off from work? Will the Mailman be the only one with whom Dagwood collides en route to the train? Will the Bumsteads be able to reach Aunt Hannah and Uncle Abner Henderson after taking a wrong turn? And what about Charlie and Millie, the young couple attempting to elope, while trying to avoid her protective father, Mr. Tucker, who divides his time between guarding Millie from Charlie, and birthing a dry oil well?

Don't miss Baby Dumpling's turn behind the wheel of Uncle Abner's jalopy, and Dagwood's attempts to abide by Blondie's wishes, which this time around escalate into big screen action and very much comedy.
