Mr Lockwood's Dream
I've read Wuthering Heights several times and love the story very much. I am never exactly sure if Mr Lockwood was dreaming about Cathy at the Window or if she was really there. He puts his hands through the window and we are told that the bedclothes are saturated in blood. When Heathcliff comes to the room there seems to be no broken window or blood. Can I take it that it was a dream?
Having said all that I still feel it was Cathy's ghost at the window. Would love to know what others think. Didn't Heathcliff say that he'd seen her near the end of the book?
