They don't make 'em like that anymore!

They don't write 'em, act 'em, direct 'em, film 'em and score 'em like this anymore, more is the pity.

When will Hollywood return to directing intelligent films like this? This film was excellent without any bad language, car chases, violence or nudity.

Seems all you need to make an enjoyable film is talented people in front and behind the camera.

Seriously, I doubt Britain can produce actors of the quality of Niven and Olivier any more. I would add Oberon, although she was born in India, she cut her teeth in the British movie industry.

Nor are there a pair of screenwriters around to match Hecht & McArthur. These days you wonder if anyone writes scripts anymore.

As for the sound, a superb score was provided by Alfred Newman, it was well directed by William Wyler and Gregg Toland showed himself to be a master of lighting and technique.

Where do you find any of these talents like this in a movie these days? Yet this crammed full of it. What I would give for a modern movie to have talent in just one of these areas, never mind all of them.
