Here's the link:

It will be directed by Nicole Kassell, who did The Woodsman and episodes of Watchman, The Americans, The Leftovers, The Following and other shows. I think this is a terrible idea and completely unnecessary.

Doesn't seem fun and uplifting

Well the books and that '80s sequel had some creepy imagery. Hell for some reason, people are afraid of the flying monkeys from the 1939 movie so maybe a horror tinged adaptation would be more interesting.

reply

An adaptation of the book, not a remake of the movie, would work for me.

reply

It would be nice to see, but I expect nothing special here.

reply

i don't mind the idea of new wizard of oz films but i'm afraid of the casting choices.

My thoughts on the disgusting idea to remake this film: 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻

I'm okay with the idea of a new "Wizard of Oz" film, as long as it's not a musical!

There's no competing with the immortal 1939 version, it's too unique and wierd. All they can do is adapt the book that Baum wrote, which is kind of dark and creepy. It wouldn't hurt if everyone involved had a look at "Return to Oz", the 1980s film that's the only one to ever capture the dark fantasy of the books.

RETURN TO OZ IS MY FAVORITE OZ.

Mine is Blizzard of Ozz

It's about time! My kids and I were just holding hands and skipping down the street singing about being off to see the wizard this morning! I'm sure it won't please everyone but it's good to know some people will be employed and the Hollywood gears are still turning for nice projects.

reply

Please include the Kalidahs and the Hammerheads. I've always wanted to have them included in a movie since I had the books as a kid.
