The Scarecrow by far. He seemed like the coolest, funniest guy you can hang out with. With impressive dancing skills.
Also there is just something about Ray Bolger that made him more likable than the other two.
Scarecrow is my #1 dream role of all roles in musical theatre. He is my big time favorite character.

shareI have to vote for the Lion. All three are classic performances, but Lahr stands out to me. Plus the fact that the Lion is actually in search of a particular, relatively concrete quality (courage) appeals to me. I understand the symbolism of the brain and heart, but we still all have one of each. Courage is something we could all use a boost of at times and through the Lion, we see an actual weakness of character overcome. As opposed to the broad strokes of the heart (love) and brain (intellect), the search for courage is more poignant to me.
However, thanks for introducing me to the term "sooky". Wiki says it's used in New Zealand and It's not one I've heard in the US.
