another boyer/dunne film?

I just saw a vintage movie magazine cover ("Screen Romances") with no year on it, with Charles Boyer and Irene Dunne in a film called "Modern Cinderella". Any idea why this isn't listed on imdb?

I tried to figure out if this IS one of their three films listed on imdb with a different working title or something, but I can't make this picture of Dunne as a waitress and Boyer as her customer match up with anything.

Another film mentioned on the magazine cover is "The Rains Came" which is a 1939 picture. So I would guess it is the same time period as "Love Affair" and "When Tomorrow Comes".

Is Irene Dunne a waitress in "When Tomorrow Comes"? Did the studios sometimes shelve announced pictures? A cover of "Screen Romances" seems like the kind of publicity the old studio bosses wouldn't waste on something that wasn't going to be released.

Help?

"When Tomorrow Comes" was written from a story by James M. Cain that he first titled "A Modern Cinderella." It served as a working/alternate title for Stahl's movie, and for Cain's novel, but both were changed. Cain's novel was published (much) later as "Root of His Evil" (and also as "Shameless"). It's very different than the movie, though. Be warned. The movie was playing on the success of "Love Affair," so many plot points were changed (perhaps for the better). She does, in fact, play a waitress in the movie. Actually, the opening scenes are nearly identical to the book. It changes drastically after that.

The movie was later remade in 1958 by Douglas Sirk as "Interlude," with June Allyson. Another remake came out in 1968 with Oskar Werner. The Sirk "Interlude" and Stahl's "When Tomorrow Comes" are only available on DVD through a French Douglas Sirk collection, volume 2. "When Tomorrow Comes" is part of the bonus features.

Movie girl: Hi! I am hoping to get the film, but Loving the Classics does not have it now.

Could I request a copy from you and make you some films from my classic collection?
Would greatly appreciate! I have had it for 30 years, but the end cuts off when they are in the restaurant.

Please let me know!
THanks, Janet
