The pianist playing Chopin's Nocture in the background of the scene in the rain (and can also be seen in a few other places during the movie) was Dolly Loehr, who went on to be film ingenue Diana Lynn. She had some substance abuse problems and died of a cerebral hemmrrhage at the age of 46.
The child singer, Jacqueline Nash, did indeed sing the two works. Later, she changed her professional name to Gale Sherwood and was Nelson Eddy's singing partner after his split up with Jeanette MacDonald, until his death in 1967.
The young pianist was Mary Ruth Kizziar, who was seven at the time the movie was made. She left acting when she graduated from high school.
