Inspector Krogh: "Everybody wants to hang old Ygor again..."

I laughed out loud after he said said it (and delivered it identically) the second time! It was like he was adding "allegedly" every time he mentioned the grave robbing, which is really ironic, given that he was likely guilty of countless other crimes!

Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!

I do like the bit were his arguing with the detective with the broking arm and all of a sudden he shouts "Do you want a game of darts"

reply

"I'm sorry, I cough. You see, bone gets stuck in my throat!"

reply

Igor (lecherously): "He is my friend...he does things for me."

Inspector Krogh: "One does not easily forget, Herr Baron, an arm torn out by the roots"

reply

That was mine as well! I was watching the movie tonight, and when I heard that line, I had to
rewind the DVR and listen again to make sure. Wow! Who knew arms had roots!

Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!

Yes, the word usage sounds a bit odd by today's standards but it sounds right for its time: grisly, graphic, with the word "roots" used perhaps more as a figure of speech. Today's language regarding such matters is more precise and clinical, though the old line carries a powerful wallop.

I'm afraid my favorite quote was already taken. I must admit that every time his "arm" was "adjusted", I thought of Young Frankenstein's hilarious parody of the "one-armed" guy.

Time circuit's on. Flux capacitor, fluxing. Engine running. All right.
