Boy meets girl. Boy's best friend steals girl. Girl betrays boy. Boy acts like nothing is wrong and continues to be friends with them. Am I on acid? If not for Billie Burke I would have shot my TV, Elvis style.

Robert Taylor's character is particularly obnoxious given he deliberately steals his lifelong best friend's fiancee - and then later just months after marriage he is ignoring her and then making insulting remarks about her relatives on top of it. It made no sense for Lew Ayres to give them the "forgetting" formula to make them fall in love again given surely in another three months they'd be back at this same point as well. I can't imagine who thought audiences would sympathize with these characters or even like them. I guess they thought it would be accepted as one big screwball farce however the movie was deservedly a major flop.
