Executing a drummer boy?
I started a thred in I Need to Know called "Executing a drummer boy?" where I asked:
I remember an old English Language movie, probably made before 1970, and probably set during the Philippines rebellion against American rule about 1900, seen on American tv decades ago.
I thought the title was Samar but I can't find it in IMDB.
One of the characters, a doctor, and rather bitter and cynical, told a story of the US Civil War in which he treated a wounded drummer boy and then the boy was taken and executed.
I don't remember what reason, if any, was given in the movie for such an unusual action.
Can anyone help me?
The Real Glory(1939) is the first suggestion, and I do remember seeing it. So is this the movie I was asking about? share
