f.y.i. for the viewers and reviewers....maria ouspenskaya had a russian accent...
not a "yiddish" accent...perhaps because she was russian....

Movie girl: I did not know she was Russian, but was quite impressed by every performance. Her often regal bearing and sometimes seemingly demanding - as in The Mystery of Marie Roget os well acted.

Gotta love the way she gave orders in a no-nonsense matter-of-fact way. I wish more people in charge were like her.

Movie girl: Me too. What wonderful talent. She enhanced many a film with that no-nonsense manner that belied her kindness underneath. She is wonderful in a sentimental Christmas movie called Beyond Tomorrow. My mother liked her in King's Row, which I always liked too. I do wish others could take charge like her.
