Does NOT rank with How Green Was My Valley

Just to say that the current review being shown here by "philipdavies" is absurd. He says:

"Altogether, a much truer, and therefore finer, treatment of the Welsh mining experience than anything to be found in that overblown, overhyped confection, 'How green was my valley'."

That's ridiculous, and his entire review seems to be nothing more than an advertisement for The National Library of Wales and to promote his own hero worship of the very overrated Paul Robeson. There is no better film made than How Green Was My Valley, the likes of which we'll probably never see again.

You clearly do NOT know anything about the great Paul Robeson.

reply

He does come across as bitter.

reply

Like his singing loathe his politics.

I've always liked this film and even managed to see it in the cinema. It's much better than the sentimental, and Irish accented, How Green Was My Valley.
