Does anyone else think...

Does anyone else think it's odd that later on in her career Bette Davis starred in Now, Voyager as a woman named Charlotte who loves a man who has a daughter nicknamed Tina?

both screenplays by casey robinson in a Warner Br. flick. both produced by hal wallis. both starred b. davis, so i guess it was inevitable to re-use material.

Rather, it's coincidence, as THE OLD MAID is based upon the 1935 Zoe Atkins stage adaptation of Edith Wharton's 1924 novella, and NOW, VOYAGER was based on the 1941 novel by Olive Higgins Prouty, one of several she wrote about various members of the Vale family.

In my case, self-absorption is completely justified.

Old Charlotte reminded me of Charlotte Vale's mother, in her voice and demeanor.

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

And did Charlotte go from being an old maid to the nutty Charlotte of Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte?
