5 minutes shorter in Canada?
Why would this movie be 5 minutes shorter when released in Canada? Did they say something derogatory about hockey? I just saw this movie on TCM Canada and it was again the shortened version. What's up with that?

shareTCM played it last month in their Cagney festival and it timed out to 80 minutes. What's the deal with the missing 5 minutes? Anyone know?

That is the funniest Goddamn thing I've read in the bulletin boards on this site, ever.
It may be over a year since you posted it, but reading that just made my day, my week, possibly even my year. Thank you.

ROTFL!
But seriously, in some countries, film speed is faster than in others, so a film will have the same content, but be a different length, than in another country.
Then again, both the U.S. and Canada use NTSC, so I'm not sure why they'd be different.
