Wong Vs Chan: the Chinese Detective Wars

Boris Karloff expands on his repertoire of swathy Eurasians to play a cultured (supposedly Han) Chinese detective - a would-be rival to 20th Century Fox's popular Charlie Chan. Karloff's very clipped upper class English accent jars uncomfortably with any attempt to make him seem convincingly Chinese (as does his appearance). Someone though should have came up with the idea of teaming the two of them in the one movie - two (for the price of one) wise Chinese detectives competing to unbaffle the unbaffleable case! Something along the lines of say Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein which combined Frankenstein, Dracula & the Wolfman in a three-in-one monster assault on the bumbling comic duo.
