The Mask

Hi all,

Has the mask used in this film been auctioned? Is the mask, if not auctioned off, is it still floating about? If so, how can it be acquired?

I would suspect that even though the mask looked heavy and durable, it was light and as comfortable as could be under the circumstances. So it would be a guess that it didn't survive....but again that is only a guess.

I am formerly known as HillieBoliday......Member since May 2006.

Quite a few props from the Golden Age of Hollywood became part of private collections....especially the beautiful home furnishings and other appointments. During the Golden Age of Hollywood, the major studios were notorious for sending the heads of designs, sets, costumes, etc., on shopping sprees to Europe to purchase antiques and other vintage furnishings to be used for sets in movies going into production. I've read (can't remember where) that a great deal of those furnishings became part of the decor in some of the stars/directors/ private homes.

It would be quite fascinating to know exactly where sets and furnishings for this film came to rest.....they were so spectacular!!

I absolutely love antique/vintage furnishings....and wish I had a house full!
