When Irene Dunne is teaching the three little girls to sing, does it occur to anyone else that there voices sound suspiciously close to those of the Boswell Sisters? I couldn't find a credit but I'd be willing to bet that theirs were the voices used.
________________ I complain too much. That teacher don't like me. Now it's your turn.
Thanks for that . . . I'm not at all familiar with the Brian Sisters . . . I'll have to see if I can find some of their music. If they sound that much like the Boswells, I think I'm gonna like them! EKEBY
Well the Brain Sisters stole my heart in their very short appearance in "Tin Pan Alley", (which I love) and saw them again in "Sunday Night At the Tocadero" a short, which IMO was pretty bad. I only watched it because they were in it. But "Sincerely" :) I think I love all the sister acts....
I dropped off eBay, but did look for some recordings of both the Boswells and Brians without success in buying any. Unsure if any Brian Sisters recordings were even offered. Found some King Sisters 78s when cleaning out 'Grandpa's basement, and although they are almost unknown today they sounded good IMO even on the old 78s....
"A child of five would understand this. Send someone to fetch a child of five."
Are these the same King Sister's that were in the TV show "the King Family" in the 60's? I think one of them was married to Alino Rey who played a special instrument.(had a crush on him). There's a whole web site devoted to them.
Hi. It's been a couple years since you asked; but yes, the King Sisters were from that King Family. Alvino Rey was married to Louise King. Here's a bit more about him.
It is bizarre that for such a major film as LOVE AFFAIR there are no apparent records of who played these parts and some of the other roles in the film. The smallest girl is called "Patty" by Irene so she even has a name in the movie!
