When Irene Dunne said on the ship that they were heading to rough waters, and the rough waters were shown, was this a euphemism for the fact they were falling in love, or that they met in their rooms at night for some action? Or was it all chaste?

shareI think it meant falling in love. They were two very sophisticated people, so making love wouldn't be new to either of them. Neither seems to have given their heart away before.
I guess it's like looking at clouds. You see one thing and I see another. Peace.
They were starting their 'affair' although already involved with others... that makes it rough all the way around.
