shareI wish I honestly knew...and I hope someone who does know will reply. I've always thought it was a way of calling her Grandmother or Grandma in French. In the Greek culture, they call Grandpa "Papou". (I don't really know what they call their Grandmothers.) I was raised to call my Italian Grandmother "Nana" and knew that everyone called my (late) Grandfather "Nanu". Some say Nonna or Nonno, too. I've heard it said all different ways.
Or...it might have been his nickname for her. You know...something short for her first name.
BTW...I'm watching it right now on the RLTV channel. I hate the commercials, but I always enjoy the movie!
