This deserves the royal treatment for Blu-Ray w/ optional colorization!

I just saw for the first time after seeing over 30 other Hitchcock films. I don't understand why friends, professors, and critics didn't ever recommend this. It should be Psycho, North by Northwest, and Jamaica Inn, then you go see the 50 other movies and shows of his.

A crazy amazing blu-ray could rectify this for others. And it'd be great if it was colorized because that would get all the critics to come crawling out the woodwork shouting, "HOW DARE YOU TAMPER WITH WITH ONE OF HITCHCOCK'S TRUE MASTERPIECES! WHY THIS IS MORE OUTRAGEOUS THAN WHEN ELI ROTH ADDED BLOOD AND GORE TO THE LODGER!"

Problem solved for future generations of Hitchcock fans.

-What you gonna see?
-Something that starts soon and looks good.

Is that even possible? It it was shot in black and white?

Sure it's possible. They colorize films all the time (Casablanca, It's A Wonderful Life, Night of the Living Dead). Some people like, some despise the very idea of it, but the good thing is that it always gets the films attention. They get shown in repertory theaters, broadcast on TV, and get a new home video release.

They have colorize process they can do many movies has, like Miracle on 34th Street, it's wonderful life etc. Usually the b/w is way better but it not horrible if it done right.

This film has lapsed into the Public Domain. No one has "rights" to the work anymore. That discourages investment in restoration.
