My favorite scene is...

Mary is upstairs in the inn looking through the floor (the place is that shoddy) and sees them hanging the man. Amazing detail there. The room is so shabby. The actress isn't overdoing it, but showing fear convincingly. The lighting on her face versus the lighting downstairs, etc.

This movie showed such directorial detail. I just loved it!
