Absolutely. I wholeheartedly concur. Please disregard the lame ass review written by : Ivanhoe Vargas (nycritic) from Jersey City, NJ

(nycritic) HA! That oughta be a clue. He basically parroted what Osbourne (host on TMC) had to say about the film... then throws in an aside about Carole Lombard that made no sense.

Check it out yourself -- the old-timers knew their stuff. It's a classic.

I like it. However, it's a bit disappointing Carole Lombard and Cary Grant never made a comedy together. They are a lovely couple in this film, but it's Kay Francis' terrific performance that steals the show.

"Dry your eyes baby, it's out of character."

It is indeed a wonderful movie and a great story. I loved Carole Lombard in this movie. I thought of her nothing other than air brain after seeing her in "My Man Godfred" first. Charles Coburn is one of my favorite actors. He played the father. Gary Grant is always stiff to me but I can give or take him. I've always liked Kay Francis. 1939 was a good year for movies.

It was surprising to see Cary Grant in this type of film, I mean the distraught romantic type more than just the regular romantic type, in this his character kinda suffers with love.

"I promise you, before I die I'll surely come to your doorstep"

I love the way Maida screws herself at the end.
