Gold lame dress

Anyone else think the gold lame dress the dreaded Maida wore in the Christmas scene was one of the most beautiful dresses ever in the movies?

I think it's gorgeous too. She needed to have more to fill out the top for it to look really good. I'm speaking as a pear shaped lady myself, not to be disrespectful of ms. Francis who I thought played her part well.

Gold lame? Wasn't this a black and white movie? I just saw it this morning but, unfortunately, it has already been overwritten on my DVR. I can't go back and look but the information on the main IMDb page confirms it was black and white.

Is there a colorized version floating around out there? I'm kind of glad that's not the version I saw. Either way I didn't notice the dress but I'm not surprised. I so despised Maida I would not have noticed what she was wearing. Then again, I really liked Julie but didn't necessarily notice anything she was wearing either.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

The harsh metallic look of the dress symbolized her hard, cold character. Or some such film-schooley hooey.
