whats up with all the "scenes deleted" in the cast list? its 98 minutes as is, so it probably would have been about 10 hours long if those scenes were left in. quite the cast list. this film seems to be a remake of the 1931 version, which had Cooper and Lombard... they had different occupations, but plots were about the same. Marjorie Main - gotta love it. Also, note Syd Saylor in BOTH versions.

The actors listed in the deleted scenes were actually in the original production of this movie, which began in 1938 with a different director (Josef von Sternberg). If you notice the character names the deleted cast plays, they are in some instances the same as the finished movie (e.g. Walter Pidgeon plays the same character as Kent Taylor, Ina Claire plays the same role as Veree Teasdale, etc.) The original production was so problem-plagued that it was eventually put on hold, and then redone (virtually making a brand new movie with an almost totally different cast) in 1940.
shareThat is interesting. Walter Pidgeon was to costar a few years later with Hedy in "White Cargo". And Verree Teasdale was to costar with Hedy again in "Come Live with Me" (but in that movie, Hedy is trying take her husband instead of being her friend).
