Type of Movie? Spoilers

This movie seemed to start off as a serious crime drama, but towards the end it looked as if it wanted to be a screwball comedy. The multiple murders by poisoning the coffee seemed more in line with something from Arsenic and Old Lace . The cases of mistaken identity seemed comedic as well.
