Jean Rogers' accent

She was supposed to be Spanish??? Sounded more like Sonja Henie.

I agree. At least she phrased most things the way a Spanish speaker would.

She didn't appear to have any kind of accent at all. She just appeared to not use contractions, and she occasionally threw in some Yoda-like syntax reversals.

Many Spanish words that are now easily understood by most people now must not have been common at that time. She pronounced the word "fiesta" as FEE-STA. Since Hollywood is so close to Baja California, I would have thought that word would have been very common even then. Since it got past the director and the other actors, they must not have been familiar with that word's correct pronunciation.
