DVD, please

Let's put this on DVD, people.

After seeing this absoluely charming movie a year or so ago, I spent a while looking for TWENTIETH CENTURY, said to be John Barrymore's finest momemnt. Well, I've finally seen it; and come back to this, THE GREAT MAN VOTES, wanting to compare. Barrymore is a whiz in TWENTIETH CENTURY, true; but in this movie, he's actually sympathetic, human, tender, sentimental, insensible, wonderful.

Plus I love the kid actors too.

So let this movie be put onto DVD.

Amen.

Check out "Counseller at Law" 1933. It's fabulous. Wish I could see "The Great Man Votes". I've only read about it. Also some wonderful soul has put Mr. Barrymore on YouTube from 1929. Enjoy!

Thanks for the recommendation, Margaret (are you grieving? Over Goldengrove unleaving?)! I've added "Counsellor at Law" on my Netflix queue. Can you give me a link for Mr. Barrymore on YouTube?

And people (clapping hands): DVD for "The Great Man Votes." Chop chop!

Why must you turn my message thread into a house of lies, Sam? I just looked all over the internet, and can't find THE GREAT MAN VOTES on DVD!

Well, I don't want to debate phenomenology with you, sir! I will take it on faith you have it recorded onto DVD.

But was this a DVD that you purchased? A DVD that is for sale? Or perhaps one you recorded from the TV onto a DVD?

Hi,

We'd like to have it on DVD as well. Lucia, I'm glad you liked the kid actors as well. My uncles, Wayne Hull and Warren Hull were in this movie. I don't know why IMDB does not have them listed in the credits. We have a great still shot of of the two boys on the set reading the script with John Barrymore. Warren was in the USMC and was killed in action on Iwo Jima.

IMDB, give my uncles credit, please!
