It's a shame there are no extras for the DVD

I'm glad that there is even a DVD (I love the Warner/MGM line of classics)

But there isn't a single feature. No trailers or bios of any sort. And what I really wanted was a commentary perhaps, or even some radio dramas or shorts.

This thread serves another purpose, and that's to increase the size of the message board for this great movie.

Some old movies have film historians doing commentary tracks so that's not a rediculous thought.
bios wouldn't have been that hard!

~ I know it's a major shame that the dvd didn't have any special features. It totally deserved it.

It's a shame that Warner's doesn't give this film the restoration and a Bluray release which it deserves.
Don't know if that's even possible as I am unaware if they even have a better print of this classic movie to work with (I certainly would hope they find a copy). At the very least Warners should invest in a restoration of their existing print and clean it up in order to preserve it.

I just saw the last 20 minuets of this lovely movie..I enjoyed what I saw so much, that I am going to try and get this on dvd....

I wonder what those boys of the school who say there names at the end of the movie are doing now? some sadly may have passed on, but good actors everyone of them....
My sons went to Brookfield school, not the posh one though lol..
Just to add, Robert Donat died very young, 53 is no age really...we lost a great actor then !

There are no extra film elements left for this film on file and the studio isn't likely to spring for a complete CGI restoration and clean up of the print and soundtrack. The original elements no longer exist and the DVD print was assembled from the best elements they could find...which weren't good to start with. Sadly the DVD, as is, is all we will ever have. A real shame. I love this movie.
