Question for those who saw it in the theater
How many times did you go to the bathroom? Being that it's a four hour movie.
shareIf they saw it at 9 they would be 90 now, if they saw it at 19, 100. I don't think they'd be using these boards.
shareActually, before there was netflix and youtube, and before DVDs and VCR tapes, they used to re-release movies into the theater every few years. Movies like this or Citizen Kane would be shown for a few days every few years. It was the only way for people to see them, at that time. So, I saw this in the theater, but it was in the mid-60s. I wish they still did that. Seeing this or Lawrence of Arabia on the big screen is a whole different experience than watching it on a small screen.

shareIt has been shown in theaters many times since its initial release. I watched it on the big screen once. I do not recall if I took a bathroom break.
shareI saw it in theatre in 2019. Revival houses and film archives are a thing, you know. And of course GWTW has had numerous wider re-releases during it's years as well.

When I was a kid in the 1970s, there were no less than 3 revival house movie theaters downtown, and I was able to see films like "The Wizard of Oz" and the Marx Brothers stuff with a good-natured audience. FYI "Oz" is MUCH more fun when the whole audience hisses every time the WW appears!
Now all those theaters are gone, and there's one movie theater in that busy downtown area where there used to be five, including the revival places. And there aren't any revival theaters in the metropolitan area where I live now, not a single one.
