imdb credits for the movie "Gaslight" are incorrect

Jan 24th, 2004

I recently saw the movie "Gaslight" again on PBS and the role of "Nancy, the parlour maid" is listed in the imdb credits as "Cathleen Cordell." This is incorrect. It is Angela Landsbury. Rent the movie tonight and check it out. "Nancy" is indeed listed as Angela Landsbury. Gaslight is a wonderful film with Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer, Joseph Cotton and of course, a very young Angela Landsbury. :)

THere were two versions of this movie... "Angel Street" and "Gaslight"
You are confusing the American version with the British version (British version being Angel Street.)

actully both films are called gaslight. angel street is the title that was used in the us for the british version. it is no longer called by that name. the american verison 1944 was the one with angela in it. i never though she was that good looking as a young woman.

the credits are correct..there are two versions...one from 44 and one from 40.....bergman, landsbury and boyer are in the 44 version...this version was made in Britain.....hope that clears it up....

Angela Lansbury, IMHO, was pretty hot in her day. Look for her in Samson and Delilah: she is sweetly stunning.

I had no idea and was stunned after watching the "American" version for the 30 something time.

It's ironic that the "American version" 1944 have all European actors--minus Cotten.

Yeah its sort of nasty to think about Angela Lansbury being so hot back then. I think she looked the hottest in The Harvey Girls as the Saloon Madame. Uggh, i'm tingling with digust right now.

As of this post she is still acting. Love the MGM film... Such a classic and part of the culture.

I know about tween/teen/20's who know this film. I guess its acting or (wanna be) acting 101.

There is nothing - NOTHING - wrong with seeing a film of an actor in her prime being considered "hot." Ms. Lansbury looks beautiful today. She has aged gracefully, and without need for plastique. "Nasty" Beecee? You should be proud that you have good taste for an authentic person.
