He's watching his saloon going up and says, "They ran me out of Lordsburg", which was true of his character in "Stagecoach" which came out the same year. Inside joke?

Funny,that in "Stagecoach", Doc Boone implies that Hatfield is a back shooter, that same year, Carradine played Bob Ford, who shot Jesse James in the back. Another inside joke?
