Mickey Borden/John Garfield

I found the Mickey Borden sequences in this film so moving, all the more so because John Garfield's life ended prematurely like Mickey's. So very sad.

For someone who wasn't there, Mickey played a big role in this movie. I sure hope Garfield got paid for his 'appearance'; archival though it may have been. The movie would not have worked well without him in it.

While they did a good job incorporating a character who had already died, I wondered if I would have understood Ann and Felix' story as well if I hadn't seen the original, Four Daughters, movie.

I have to give credit to the studio on this one. They realized the movie was a hit with audience after they killed off a popular character. They figured out how to solve that problem and apparently had another hit. I'm assuming this because there were, I believe, two more sequels after this one.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
