A hidden treasure

Very well-made Ginger Rogers film.

Excellent cast - great script - fine acting - nice theme.

I agree. This is one of my favorite films. It is a shame it is not more widely known, dicussed, or shown.

Ditto. Let's discuss it then. :)

Personally, I think I have too much bloom. Maybe that's the trouble with me.

.. some similarities to Down & Out in Bev Hills... let the arguing begin. LOVE frank pangborn...too bad they didnt use him more in this one.

This was a very sweet film!

Ginger Rogers was almost over-shadowed by the whacky family. She was really the straight man to a bunch of rich eccentric types.

Verree Teasdale really stole the show for me. Her moments were the funniest. The reconciliation over beef stew at the end was so dear!

Walter Connolly was very enjoyable and I think this is the best role I've ever had the pleasure of watching him play.

Franklin Pangborn was terrific as the butler, but I was surprised to see such a quiet and muted performance from him.

Jack Carson was really cute as the ukulele strumming sailor.
