What Does the Title Mean Anyway?
Does the title have to do with Milland and Cummings being newspapermen? It's a bad title, and makes little sense for the film.
shareWell, that's a very good question, and 20th Century Fox must have been aiming for a sort of ambiguous, all-emcompassing title for this outing.
We have the missing celebrity, his figure-skating daughter, and two handsome reporters vying for her attention, while searching for the father, before the bad guys swarm in to wreak havoc.
So, the question must be to list things which happen after dusk here....
1) The prize-winner goes into hiding.
2) His daughter skates by moonight.
3) Competing reporters vie for her affection.
4) Enemies swarm into the village.
Then this turns from light comedy to becomes a dark film, which also must mean that everything happens at night, or something along those lines....
