This film was remade with Kay Francis, Walter Huston and soprano Gloria Warren in 1942 as a musical entitled Always In My Heart. In Daughters Courageous doesn't the mother eventually marry the new guy? Because it seems to me the two films have different endings. I liked Always In My Heart - Gloria Warren has a fabulous voice and it has some really interesting music.
