PROGNOSIS NEGATIVE! @_@
Did you notice that after Bette says "I think I'll have a large order of prognosis negative", her eyes bug out creepily? l laughed so hard. Now my family calls that look "prognosis negative eyes".

I had 'pop eyes' until I started getting older. Anyway, that's why they're called Bette Davis Eyes. And wasn't she fabulous in every movie?
shareI'm going to see "Prognosis Negative" this afternoon. It's on a double bill with "Rochelle, Rochelle."
"My brain rebelled, and insisted on applying logic where it was not welcome."share
That sounds great, but I've already made plans to see "Sack Lunch."

Ah! I'm not well-versed enough to get the Sack Lunch reference... please clue me in.
"Why do you find it so hard to believe?"
"Why do you find it so easy?"
"It's never BEEN easy!"
Seinfeld. They're 2 movies that the gang kept going to see.
They were going to see "Prognosis Negative" on the episode where Jerry is forced to take care of some guy's dog. He couldn't go to see it because he was waiting for the guy to call and collect the dog...Farfel.
"Sack Lunch" is the movie that Elaine wanted to see instead of "The English Patient" because she hated the movie...and everyone shunned her.
Sadly, this pop culture reference is all I could think about. Such a serious movie and I'm laughing like there's a Pez dispenser on the seat next to me.

LOL! That's my favorite scene in the whole movie. :)
Bette Davis doesn't disappoint when it comes to movies! :)

Susan wants to see 'The Muted Heart'
"How do you feel?"
"Like the Kling-Klang King of the Rim-Ram Room!"
Did you see The Rural Juror? It was great!
Which would be worse, to live as a monster or to die as a good man?
It's sort of like saying... "fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be bumpy night"
shareI just wanted to say I saw this for the first time last night and enjoyed it very much. Bette Davis was great in this film. My wife felt that there was too much overacting, but I think she is mistaken to think that it is realistic to have characters always protrayed with a kind of even keeled expression. Some people even in "real life" are dramatic, and Davis was made for that kind of part. I particularly enjoyed her repartee with Bogart's character. Geraldine Fitzgerald was also very good.
shareOMG---i just watched this movie on TCM for the first time. i'm so glad i read your post before the movie and watched for that line. when i saw her eyes, i completely understood your symbols: @_@ THAT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUNNY!!!!!
shareThis is so weird. I j u st finished watching that very scene and then read these posts.
I also thought it was a bit much. I think another actress not prone to Davis histrionics in every role, could have done it and no one would notice. But when bette did it she looked downright CRAZY... great movie too.

shareNo, I was paying attention to the character and what she was going through and feeling sad for her as I should. I saw nothing to laugh about. Cancer, even in a movie is not funny.
