anyone know if its coming out on dvd anytime soon, as I no longer have my vhs copy of it as I went totaly digital, managed to replace every other film I owned with dvds and thought john waynes would be easy!

I am a great John Wayne fan as well, from my searches it seems it is only available in VHS and copies are available on Amazon. It is a shame all his movies (from 1939 onward anyways) are not out in digital format, in sigle discs.
I have not seen this film for some time, does it have a seen where he kills a villian, and saids "my father told me to never trust you, you old coot" (seems the villian was killing people for their gold teeth and blaming it on the indians.
Yes I had it on vhs but sold it thinking it would be easy to replace on dvd due to the fame of wayne but no joy.
Can't remember that scene but I like the film because it is set earlier than most of his westerns, along the lines of last of the mohicans, and is set in colonial america
