shareSheldon Reynolds produced two versions of Sherlock Holmes for television.
the first was a set of 39 episodes, all filmed in Paris and starred Ronald Howard (Leslie Howard's son) as Holmes and Howard Marion Crawford as Watson.
The second was filmed a few years later, with the official title of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson and starred Geoffrey Whitehead as Holmes and Donald Pickering as Watson and Patrick Newell as Inspector Lestrade. These were filmed in Russia, but not be confused with the Russian Holmes produced a few years later that was performed with Russian actors. This version can be watched on Youtube. The first version I mentioned can be purchased through Amazon and EBAY.
Since the Jeremy Brett series tries to be reasonably faithful to the Doyle stories, it far outclasses any of the other stuff.
