Greatest Unknown Comedy of the Thirties?

I'd thought I'd seen even the so-so films but this was a sheer delight. I loved Billie Burke in particular.

It's on Youtube at this time.

My favorite screwball. I was so glad I bought this on a whim.

I fully agree about the title of your thread. This movie is absolutey sensational, delightful, one of the funniest and most entertaining I've ever seen. The cast was simply perfect, and every single one gave a terrific performance.

Billie Burke was a wonderful ditz. I recently saw a 1940 British movie, Cottage To Let, in which British actress Jeanne de Casalis plays basically the same part. During the Young in Heart, Billie frequently talks about her husband's career in the Bengal Lancers and, at a dinner party, mentions that her children were born in India. A sentence later she said that India is a terrible place and "I've never been there."

Just caught it again on TCM (I think) and it's always a lovely surprise.

I just saw it last night. What a delight. Heads and Tales above almost all of the screwball comedies one usually finds on TCM at the dead of night. Deserves to be brought back into the public consciousness similar to how It's a Wonderful Life was given new life.

It was on TCM recently, and I agree, it was a delight - as much of it as I could stay awake for! I see some comments here that it is or was on YT. I'm heading over there to try to see the last part of it. I hope it has a happy ending! :)
