I Liked The Film, Until...

...near the end. Andy (Mickey Rooney) is driving Polly Benedict, his Sister and Mother and a investment colleague too a rendezvous with his Father, Judge Hardy.
Driving at excessive speed, Andy decides that it is the perfect time to 'cop a feel' and steal a kiss from Polly. Taking his hands off the wheel and nearly swerving off the road. I doubt that even 1937 audiences thought this was appropriate behavior. This is not the first time Andy would act like a irresponsible ass in this series, nor the last.

That is one reason why "Andy Hardy" was so popular, he was far from perfect.

jfd0210; I do not think that behavior was acceptable in the 1930s/40s. My Mother born in 1926 thought ANDY HARDY was a JERK!

Did you read what I wrote?
Are you capable of reading?
No where in what I wrote did I say what he did was acceptable.
I said he wasn't perfect, that is why people could relate to him.

reply

jfd0210; Yes, I did. Nor did I object or criticize your viewpoint, but restated what I and my Mother believed. Maybe you are the one with a interpretation and reading defect or easily offended, I am NOT.
