Terrific movie *small spoiler

TCM was featuring Fay Bainter. I have not seen any movies with her before and thought she was absolutely lovely and wonderful. I really enjoyed the movie. Sometimes the acting was a little over the top but on the whole it was excellent. Fay had the kindest face. My only regret is that at the end, she didn't tell Peter she was his mother. I really wanted Mr. Bradford and her to get back together and for Peter to know they were his real parents. Even if they didn't tell him, I really would love to have seen her get back together with the man she loved.

"I'm a big fan of Claude, and was very glad I watch this movie."

Agree also a fan of Faye Bainter....taped the ones after this which were not at all as good. Hello to the TCM fan club above...a fellow member!!!!

With regard to the ending, it allows us to use our imagination as to haw it all turns out....As stated in 1939, she had to pay for her 'indiscretions'....

I love Fay Bainter and I was glad that she got to be more than an oldmaid aunt in this one. I too wish it had ened differently. I understand the production code but after watching To Each His Own I wanted the big payoff in this one also.
