not the Amazon but Guiana

We wish to thank Her Majesty's Governor of Netherlands Guiana for permitting our expedition to enter the jungles of the Tottiekampu country. Our thanks also to Chief Moi of the Matawais tribe for allowing us to record for the first time the sights and sounds of the Djuka Fire Dance Ritual.

Ah, the good old days when movie crews got permission to film in the strangest places.... I wonder how much they had to pay Her Majesty's Governor and the locals.

I also wonder how many of the outfits were changed to fit the script. The village where the pilot was ill reminded me of a Road picture. Substitute Hope, Crosby, and Lamour and you could play the same scene.

I'm surprised there is so little comment on the board about this film. The newsreel biz has evolved into reality tv and the online gossip/blogs, just as the yellow journalism biz has evolved into tabloid media. One shudders to think how it will evolve in the future.
