stands on its own merits

I don't quite understand why commentors denigrate this film because it "copies" It Happened One Night (and IHON is one of my all-time favorites, so don't get me wrong.) Other than a rich girl fleeing her life and a reporter who is wise to her, I don't see many similarities. Fredric March's character sums it up in the scene where he tells Virginia Bruce that "all stories start the same way....a boy...a girl...." How many other films hve followed variations of that same plotline? Besides, the acting is way above average, the dialogue flows, and even if we know all along how this is going to end, it is a delightful journey to get there.
