Joan Bennett's coiffure in "The Texans" got quite a bit of razzing from the critics. Why? She went through the rigors of a blizzard, dust storm, prairie fire, and Indian fights without a hair out of place.

True, but what would you rather have: Stark realism or Joan looking luminously beautiful?
