Too much romance and not enough substance!

I've seen this film many times but can no longer sit through it!
Too much of the film is centered on romance and not where it should be - in the wild blue yonder! On top of that it just meanders like a drunken steer!
Both Spence and Gable put in excellent performances - as usual, but I resent that Gable is a lowlife cad and poor Spence buys the farm for his arrogance. It kills it for me. Gable (Jim) has no redeeming qualities whatsoever!
If I want to see these two work off of each other where it all clicks, I'll watch "San Francisco".
I'll give it this, A. Arnold Gillespie's spfx are, as usual, excellent. Unfortunately the full sized mock up of the crashed Y1B resembles a pile of crumpled aluminum foil.
I'll get a lot of hate for this post and I don't care.
