Available on DVD

I saw this years ago, and thought it was great. Very funny movie. Amazon has it for $17.99. A little steep, maybe, but not for something this funny!

That is steep. I got it a couple of months ago for $7.95 from Edward R. Hamilton. You can get as many DVDs and/or books as you want to order from him by mail for $3.50 postage. Has his complete catalog on the web.

I know the copy you are referring to. This is one of the many "Warner Night at the Movies" discs that WB has put out lately.

I do think the transfer is very good (exceptional actually) and the added features are most welcome. There's a seventeen minute summary of "prohibition era film" called "Prohibition Opens the Floodgates." It is a series of interviews featuring Talia Shire, Nicholas Pileggi (screewriter "Goodfellas" and "Wiseguy"), Irwin Winkler, and Michael Madsen. There are also the typical features for WNahM, such as the trailer, some shorts, a newsreel, and expert commentary (second audio track) by Robert Sklar. In this particular case Sklar spends most of his time explaining who the actors are, what their Warner roles were, and some inside information on Edward G. Robinson's inclusion in this film.

Watta ya lookn here for?
